About the event

You’re invited to take part in the filming of a new educational series called "Shaking Up Shakespeare."

Featuring company members of Shakespeare in the Wild, "Shaking Up Shakespeare" invites audiences behind the curtain and into the rehearsal process of professional actors as they demystify the language of Shakespeare. Audiences will learn how the actors connect to the heart, humor, and passion of the poetry and bring the words off the page and onto the stage.

Selected Play:  "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

Date: Monday, August 8th

Time: 6-8pm with doors opening at 5:30pm

Location: The People's Building (9995 E Colfax Ave in Aurora)

Cost: FREE

Who may come: Participants must be willing to appear (in the audience) in the edited version of the class. The class will be made available as a free education tool in area schools. No prior knowledge of Shakespeare needed. There are no age restrictions, but participants will need to be quiet during some portions of filming.
